The Very Best Day So Far.

And it will be for a long time. I’ve been away from 7am to 9.15pm. First we went to Auckland (we actually arrived there at 9am, so we had one and a half hours to go and find the Bungee Jumping building. And believe it or not – we needed all the freakin’ time! We arrived there exactly at 10.30! Oh Gosh. Germans and their sense of orientation.
Well, we finally got there and had to fill in some papers; and we had to be weighted. GOSH! I HAVE TO LOSE SOME KILOS! ๐Ÿ˜€ However, we had to get our gear afterwards, it looked almost like climbing gear, just a bit more freaky. Then all of us (I was there with two German friends, but there were about twenty other people from all over the world) went for a little walk, crossing a street and then walking up the Harbour Bridge. First I though like, “Oh, it actually isn’t that high, it’s really okay…” and then we went on and on and the next time I looked down I was like “What the hell!” since it actually got a lot higher. Then we went inside some kind of gondel, it was vibrating sometimes due to the traffic that was running above… But we didn’t hear a lot of this since the staff guys switched on the music, so it was like a 40m high party… ๐Ÿ˜€
Since my weight was quite in the middle end compared to the other’s I had the opportunity to watch about all other jumpers… And I really was freaking out (inside, I tried not to show that and smile all the time :D). When it was my turn I was freaking out even more, my voice got all high and hysteric, although I tried to act all reasonable etc… But the moment I stood at this weird ramp kinda thing it was a really weird feeling; I was feeling both totally nervous and totally safe, but never really scared, if you know what I mean. Nervous, yes, but not like I was being in danger. And so I jumped down this bloody thing, thinking “I can’t believe I’m actually doing this right now” all the time – and it was so FREAKING AWESOME!! I’m still all euphoric. It was like, I dunno, You just fall and you don’t think anymore at all, and only the moment you see something again, when you turn around and see the skyline or something, it’s such an awesome feeling. Amazing. Just amazing. Then I bounced two more times and then I pulled a little rope that made my legs snap free and myself sit down in the air ๐Ÿ˜€ and I was pulled up again and then you just stand there and you still can’t believe you did it ๐Ÿ˜€ So it’s really just amazing, so very awesome, it’s just so short!!
Oh well. Afterwards we went up Queen Street, and I bought another pair of sunglasses and… drummroles… two more CDs of MUSE! Yaay! ๐Ÿ˜€ (Actually, I need to say that I’m really angry with the oh-so-famous music shop in Queen Street, because they put MUSE to the bloody Pop/Rock! I mean, what the hell? Pop/Rock? The Genre only people who don’t know anything about music mention as their favourite genre? Dear Sir or Madam from the store, MUSE does Alternative Hard Rock, with some Alternative Rock and maybe even Glam Rock on their newest album, but no Pop at all! Got this? Sweet.)
Then we had a hard time finding our bus station, but again we made it just in time, and we went back to Orewa, or rather Hatfield’s for me, since I met two other friends there and we went to the Hangi I mentioned before. So this was kind of a huge family meeting of my friend’s host father’s family, and it was lovely – I actually played Volleyball and was pretty good! I can’t believe it! And since I was in such a great mood I had a really good time there, and being driven home by her hostfamily at 9pm I had the feeling of being able to really say everything I wanted to say, and I was told that I had a British accent which is awesome, and I was talking and talking… Not like it is way too often, being asked a question and answering it shortly, and then saying nothing any more. This was amazing too. I think it was kind of a break-through for me, concerning my second language. Awesome.
So I really had a beautiful day. Tomorrow I’ll write about the Hot Pools at Waiwera. ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Well done!! Yeah, jumping down from something can be very exciting. And now imagine the next step of Bungee-Jumping: sitting about 14.000 feet over the ground in a smal, shaky plane! That’s fun! And you have about one or two minutes to enjoy falling ๐Ÿ™‚
Great to get some news from down down under. Stay there for another while. You would be very sorry about going home now.

    • Thanks… ๐Ÿ˜€
You and your skydiving… oh, I still have to decide what I will do on the South Island Tour… Maybe I actually will do something like this… However, I still want to do the highest Bungee Jump: 134m!! ๐Ÿ˜€
I do stay here. You’re absolutely right: I would regret it to come home and be back in normal terrible everyday school life…
      cu in four months, then.
